The Draft Resolution (Reg. No. 4458) envisages the State celebration of the 75th anniversary of the botanic garden on 21 September 2010.
Thus, it is recommended that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine sets up an organization committee in charge of preparation and holding of events related to the celebration, develops and ratifies the plan of corresponding events, envisages allocation of funds in the Bill on the State Budget of Ukraine for 2010, and provides for the renovation of the premises of the National Botanic Garden and adjacent territory.
M.M.Hryshko National Botanic Garden under the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine has formed unique collections of ornamental, medicinal, fruit, vegetable, spice, forage and industrial plants from all botanic-geographical regions of the world. The Botanic Garden grows more than 10 thousand species of such plants. These collections are of great scientific and economic importance.
The Committee members stress the substantial contribution of the personnel of the Botanic Garden into the field of environmental protection, formation of the basis for preservation of vegetable gene pool and educative activity in the branch of environmental studies.
